PhD Comprehensive Exam Portfolio (SPED, UBC)
The comprehensive exam in Special Education at UBC aims to help PhD students develop and display essential competencies that are required of a beginning academic life including writing a doctoral thesis. This online portfolio documents the process and activities that I completed as part of the comprehensive exam. This is including the documentation of artifacts related to activities and a reflection on what I learned through engaging in that experience. Besides, which courses I have completed to enhance my academic skills through the process are mentioned under the "Completed Courses" title.
The Comprehensive exam consists of the chosen 3 activities out of 5 activities and leads to the development of a philosophy (i.e., a competency) associated with the Special Education field, including teaching, research, and service, which are documented in each of the links below:
Activity-1: Fellowship Application
Activity-2: A Paper Presentation in a Peer-Reviewed Conference
Activity-3: A Presentation of a Workshop for Teachers
Completed Courses
